Explanatory note.
Please, press for sense,
Please, clear up your thoughts,
Can you understand?
The rest is meaningless…

The proposed project of zeppelin-station in Berlin in the district of Tempelhof airport presents itself as an elongated volume located between two runways connecting East and West.

A long-time drive of two European countries – Germany and Russia – for interaction and interpenetration is incarnated in the design of the façade of the building. It represents itself a formalized water surface (two countries - two banks of one river) composed of intermittent waves, generated by combination of fingers of hands reached out. Interlacement of fingers of two palms, of two hands – is a friendly handshake as well as readiness to come to the help in the hardest moment; this is a symbol of mutual understanding and love, a symbol of belief and hope for the best.

The formalized waves incarnate the idea of the world with no limits, symbolize the ability to change and generate any shape. This idea is supported by the fact that on the wavy surface there are skylights located in the random order. Their glow during the day and the night maintain the volume of the waves and creates the illusion of their motion due to their specified switching. Chaotic layout of the illumination and its switching – is a freedom from prescription that has been pressing our nations for so many years; this is a freedom of waves as well as of light – a freedom of creation.

The interior design of the building supports the idea of openness and creative potential of people, since it represents the pavilions of free planning for organizing different events and exhibitions. They are filled by volumes of different shapes which may be varied intentionally, moved within the space and filled with absolutely new substance. Thus the functional circulation is being put into effect, providing ample opportunities for development of diversified ideas of two countries – Germany and Russia – about each other. And also the opportunity for even more intensive mutual understanding and filling our relationship with new sense.

Please, clear up your thoughts,
Can you understand?
The rest is meaningless…
